A SIMPLE IDEA, A NEW PERSPECTIVE

A historic grape variety, almost exclusive to the village of Verduno, Pelaverga has always been known for its spicy, aromatic and elegant profile—light, yet deeply distinctive. These are the traits that make it especially relevant today, in tune with a fresher, more carefree way of enjoying wine, while still grounded in substance.
FUORICASA was born from the desire to tell the story of this historic Langhe variety, which has always fascinated us, through a contemporary lens—one that speaks today’s language without betraying its soul. It is a Pelaverga that plays with expectations, stepping slightly aside from tradition to reveal its modern character. A shift in perspective, not in identity.

A LABEL THAT TELLS A STORY

This attitude also takes visual form in the label: FUORICASA, a wine “outside the village.”
At the center, an open cage—a symbol of a confined and orderly space, perhaps reassuring, but not very dynamic. FUORICASA chooses to step out of it consciously, not to break with tradition, but to move more freely while preserving its essence. Stepping outside the lines without disruption. Shifting position while remaining true to itself. We aim to tell the story of a Langhe that evolves without losing its identity: a wine that is only apparently “away from home,” yet wherever it goes, feels—and makes others feel—perfectly at ease.

The irony behind FUORICASA begins with its origin. The vineyard is located in Cherasco, just outside the village of Verduno, traditionally associated with Pelaverga. In fact, it shares a very similar soil and climate with Verduno—just a couple of kilometers away. A minimal distance that becomes a narrative cue: a wine that moves beyond a defined space without losing coherence or authenticity.

AROMATIC PROFILE

Color: light ruby red, bright and luminous. Nose: intense notes of white pepper, violet and strawberry. Fresh and intriguing. Palate: smooth and elegant, spicy, with medium persistence. A red wine to be enjoyed young—convivial and versatile—perfectly in line with how wine is enjoyed today; also served slightly chilled at 10–11°C
