Barolo Riserva “Gorette”
The Barolo Riserva Gorette is a unique wine for the Cordero di Montezemolo family and for the wine enthusiasts of the winery.
Produced from a selection of grapes of the oldest vines from the prized vineyard situated at the foot of the centenarian old Cedar of Lebanon.
Already in 1960s, the Gorette vineyard was the seat of learning, experiment and special attention in choosing the best of a variety clones and to maximize the quality of the harvest.
Made for the first time with grapes from the 1998 harvest, the wine is produced only in the most exciting years. In those select vintages, only 1000 bottles are produced and bottled in magnums of 1.5L, each bottle numbered by hand.
The wine is only offered to visitors of the winery and only to those who cross the path of the gate of the Monfalletto Estate have the pleasure of acquiring the unique wine.
This is because “The Count”, as Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo was called, wanted to offer a special selection of Barolo to those he had met and that had really understood the value of this land and the efforts of the people that worked it to produce the bottle.
Visitors also have the opportunity to choose a favorite vintage from the large library the cellar ages and which it hopes to increase over the next decades.
